James Dean (B.A. Univ. of California, Riverside; M.A., Ph.D. Johns Hopkins) is the author of The World Grown Old in Later Medieval Literature (Medieval Academy, 1997), co-editor of The Idea of Medieval Literature (Univ. of Delaware Press, 1992), and editor or co-editor of five student texts: two on Chaucer's poetry for New American Library, and three on Middle English writings for the Medieval Institute (1991, 1996, and 2000). He has published articles in PMLA, ELH, Speculum, Philological Quarterly, The Chaucer Review, and elsewhere. From 1999 to 2000 he served as President of the Delaware Valley Medieval Association. He offers courses on earlier literatures, especially
Chaucer and Middle English literature. He has served as Associate Chair of the English Department at the University of Delaware from 1997 to the 2001. |
