Are you a creative person? Are you interested in writing, art, photography, or production? If so, Caesura wants you! Any University of Delaware student is welcome to join. We are also in need of students with experience in graphic design or electronic publishing software, such as Photoshop or Quark.

You don't have to be an English major or a writer to join. In fact, many of our staff members study other disciplines. New editorial voices are always needed, no matter what your background. We also need skilled artists to help design the edition and to help us review the artwork submissions that come in.

The benefits that you will receive from contributing to the Caesura staff are numerous. Besides meeting new creative, interesting and dedicated people, you will also learn editorial, computer and graphic design skills that are in demand in today's job market. In addition, extra curricular activities always look fantastic on job résumés and graduate school applications!

What Do We Do?

The Caesura staff is involved in every aspect of the magazine. Our main jobs are to select submissions for publication, design the magazine, and edit the copy. Early in the year, we discuss policies and possible designs for our upcoming edition. Once submissions start coming in, we discuss them during staff meetings. This year, we are also implementing the use of WebCT, an online discussion forum. If you are unable to travel to campus regularly, you can still take part in discussing submissions. After submissions have been decided, the staff begins design, layout, and copy editing on the new issue.
