Dawn Langton writes: I graduated from UD in 1977 with a Major in English and a concentration in journalism. I was fortunate to have Nick Nickerson, seasoned newspaperman, as my advisor and professor. I was a sports writer for The Review for two years under tireless editors. When I graduated I went right to work as as a sports writer for the Newark Post, an award-winning weekly. Later that year I became sports editor. Over the years I worked at various newspapers and as publications director at several colleges. In 1990, my husband Dale DiLeo (UD '75) and I started Training Resource Network, a publishing companyspecializing in books for the disability field. Since then I have been writer and editor for our monthly paid subscription newsletter, edited about 30 books, and co-authored two. I supervise the federal and state public policy efforts, communications, strategic alliances, research, and marketing functions. George Mallet writes:I have joined the NBC station here owned by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It is a good company. I anchor our early evening newscasts and will soon add another hour to my broadcast afternoon. I'll be on from 3-5 every day. I also do a news report each night at 10pm. In other news, while covering the Triple Crown exploits of Delaware and Philadelphia racehorses Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex, Barbaro and Hard Spun I took up riding myself. I'm now jumping and galloping horses at a farm in Fredonia Wisconsin. I have leased a big quarter horse/ thoroughbred named Jenkins. In our first show, we took ribbons in adult jumping and equitation. I'm still learning... but I am lucky to have an outstanding partner for my new sport. After 12 years as director of communications for MBNA Corporation, Dan Tipton has started Tipton Communications, a Newark Company specializing in employee communications, internet development, and marketing communications. Suzanne Goldstein Michel is living in Ocean, N.J. Kate Sheehy is a reporter and editor for the New York Post. Lon Wagner is narrative editor at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va., where is he also an adjunct member of the faculty at Old Dominion University. He began honing his storytelling in 1998 when he became an inaugural member of the newspaper's narrative writing team, then became the team's editor in 2005. His stories have been recognized in several national writing contests, including the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors and the Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards (Penney-Missouri).
