Narrow or focus your answer so as to say everything that is necessary to say about your topic and main point but only the necessary things. Avoid raw plot summary; develop your idea through topic sentences of paragraphs.

1. Compare and contrast the idea/concept of "home" in two (2) of the following works: Old Testament; The Epic of Gilgamesh; The Odyssey. Be sure to develop a main point about home and its meanings as you understand it in your chosen works. Note that this essay should concern not so much homecoming (the idea of journey) but rather the idea of "home."

2. Compare and contrast the treatment of multiple wives, mistresses, and adultery in two (2) of the following works: Old Testament; The Epic of Gilgamesh; The Odyssey. As best you can, define adultery in its historical context. Try as much as possible to keep your personal values out of your analysis.
