Law Two: Arobot must obey the orders given it by accepted humans except where suchorders would conflict with the First Law...

Law Three:A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection doesnot conflict with the First and Second Laws.

   Professor Gyofordson Batoffretodo Rickendofunsenlyer has all the cash hecould dream of, thanks to his new invention of the super maid bot and hisprevious invention the Robotic 19,023 Language/Dialect Translator+ 7,000Forms of Abstract Slang. He’s smart. He started making the translator whenhe was 5 and finished in 10 years. The Maid Bot then took him only 3 years.As soon as he completed the maid bot he began making a new type of robotprograming system in which he designed robots to have certain programablecommon sense, based on situational response. It took him 9 years to designthe program. He then decided to put the program to work by building himselfa completely robotic controlled house. He recruited 20 builders and 12assistant robot designers.

10 years later:
    It is done. I worked hard for these ten years to make my house. It is overtwenty years a head of its time and is easy to upgrade. The island thatI bought for the house also has a takeoff/landing platform for shuttlesand planes. The security is heavy too. It is robotic and human, and includeshigh-tech stealth boats I designed. These were necessary measures to ensurethe safety of my technology. All of my assistant Robot designers work onthe new lab on the island. I believe that the vain attempts to break pastmy security will not end soon, there must be some sort of plot againstme.
1 year later:The last year has been a bit spooky. Daily attacks made me up my securityto 30 boats and five fast mini-subs. Guards also man  lookout towersaround the island. But major attacks began. I will now recount the eventsof two weeks ago...
   I was in my bedroom watching ESPN when the emergency siren sounded. I changedthe channel to 1, my personal information channel. The screen showed mysecurity supervisor,Jacksontonly Korestfredey Hiperdogofohojokosorowoqozoxo.I greeted him. He told me that ten skydivers were floating towards my island.I told him to organize welcoming party and expect another attack. He agreedthat it was a diversion. I then scanned through live shots of the islanduntil I spotted a group of 15 boats coming from the west, 15 more comingfrom the east. I watched my stealth boats disperse on the radar screen.Then I saw two more enemy fleets approaching. They began to launch missilesat the island but they were shot down by the robotic antimissile system.My stealth boats knocked  out one of the fleets. Eventually my stealthboats knocked out all but one boat. The men landed but were shot down bytranquilizers. My men had stopped the attack. We had sucessfully foughtthem off and my technology was safe to improve the world.

 Latisha and the Door

     The sun was up and shining.It was too sunny and he couldn’t keep his eyes shut any longer.  Hegot up and took a shower. He put on some new clothes and fixed himselfsome breakfast. Obviously, his Uncle Tony had gone to work because he wasn’thome and the dogs weren’t barking. For some strange, mysterious reasonthe dogs only bark when he’s home. Right when he leaves, then the dogsstop barking and shut up. He scrambled some eggs and made some toast. Heput peanut butter and jelly in the toast with the scrambled eggs in themiddle. Mmmm! Just the way he liked it. Not only that but it had a goodsource of nutrition in it, too. There were nuts, fruits, breads, and eggs.

    He decided to come the BigIsland to help his uncle out with this formal banquet. He was also takinga summer job at a local coffee house. They serve fresh kona coffee. Thecoffee house is called Kona Coffee Cafe. You can go there for coffee orjust to hang out. His boss was pretty cool ,too. Also, the staff was friendlyand welcoming. He was from California so there’s no place like this backin California. Actually there’s no place that serves fresh kona coffeeand let’s you hang out at the same time. They had local performances andpoetry readings done. He looked at the clock. It was 10 o' clock. He decidedhe would go to work early and then maybe he could leave early tonight.

    Latisha combed my hair andslicked it back. He put on my dark green apron and put his name tag onit. It had his picture and says “Hi! How may I help you? My name is LatishaHokutan”. He brushed his teeth and washed his face. He was ready.

    He left a note on the fridgesaying,”Hey Uncle Tony. I guess you had an early start today. I was inspiredso I went to work early. I’ll see you later today. If you need me you cancall my cell. Sincerely, Latisha.” With that done, Latisha grabbed hiskeys and went out to the garage to drive his truck. After driving downthe red dusty road Latisha got to the Kona Coffee Cafe. His boss told himto go down to the basement and grab some more coffee beans. Latisha grabbedthe keys to the basement and went down. He couldn’t see anything so hegrabbed a flashlight.

    As he was walking down thestairs Latisha saw all this junk. There was an old rug rolled up and stowedaway to the side. There were a pair of skates hanging on the wall. Thenthere was a little door. What was behind the door? Then the door knob slowlyturned. Latisha started to get creeped out. He could feel himself startto sweat. His heart started to beat faster and faster. Little beads ofsweat started to trickle down his face. His heart was pounding. He wassure he had seen the doorknob turn. Was he imagining things? Nope thereit was the doorknob. It was slowly turning. It was pushed open a little.Latisha tried to run but his feet wouldn’t move. He slowly started to panic.

    Through the door there waslight. Latisha could hear music and little voices. Out of the door camelittle naked Hawaiian people that had long hair. They looked mischievous.That’s what they were. They were stealing coffee beans and bananas fromthe baskets of food. Latisha couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Littlepeople about 1 and a half feet tall. They started talking to Latisha butLatisha had to get back into reality and go to work. Latisha promised themhe would be back.

    The next day Latisha went backto work with a book that he borrowed from the public library. It was aboutHawaii’s Little People. Later after work Latisha told his boss he wouldlock up. As he was about to leave when he remembered the menehunes in thebasement. He went down with his bananas and kona beans. He knocked on thedoor and little menehune warriors opened it. He saw them and offered konacoffee beans. They took it and started talking to him. Latisha was verypleased with himself. He was actually talking to menehunes. The chief menehune,Alii Menehune came out and met Latisha. He told Latisha if he told anyoneabout the menehune the little people would go to his house and kill himin his sleep. Latisha thought and thought. He decided that he didn’t wantto be killed by the menehune so he kept them a secret by putting a surfboardin front of they’re little door. This way nobody would find them.

    Weeks passed and turned intomonths. Fall was coming. Latisha had to get back home to California tostart school. He told the menehune about his problem and how he wantedto stay in Hawaii with them. They decided that the next menehune baby bornwould be given to him as a surprise. Luckily a little menehune was bornfrom the best menehunes in the tribe. Her name was Kimipele. When it wastime for Latisha to leave he said goodbye to all of his menehune friends.In return they had a banquet in his honor. Before the banquet was overthe gave Kimipele to Latisha. The next day Latisha and Kimipele went tothe airport and flew to California.

    Latisha and Kimipele finallygot to California. She was so excited to see red and orange leaves. Unfortuenatly,he soon became homesick.

    To hide her homesickness shestarted to cause mischief which made Latisha’s life chaos. When menehunescause too much mischief that leads to chaos the owl god sends owls to chasethe menehunes into the forest. When Kimipele finally got her last chanceshe screwed it up big time. She broke hid Latisha's keys, cloths, and wallet.The owls came and picked her up and flew back to Hawaii. Then, they droppedher in the forrest. Ever since Latisha knew that menehune make good companionsbut can be full of mischief.

‘He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late.’

    One fine summer day, Nicole was so bored just stayinghome and doing nothing all day. She wanted something adventurous to do.So she thought she would go to the library to look at comic books and chewher gum without anyone noticing.

    So she got up from her chair, and she walked offinto the library. She went into the cold library filled with books. Nicolehad went into the comic book section to pick out her favorite series. Thenshe went looked around some more, but she didn’t find anything interesting.Most of the books were the ones she read. She then was getting tired ofchewing her hard gum so she secretly stuck it under one of the tables.

    Nicole went up to the librarian, Mr. Linden, to askif he knows a great book in mind. Nicole asked, “Do you have an excitingadventure book to read?” asked Mr. Linden. “Why yes I do. In fact, thisis my favorite one. “ Mr. Linden had given her a red medium sized book.Nicole had read the back of the book but she didn’t really like it, soshe asked him if there was another one he had in mind. Mr. Linden had showedher a few more, then more and more and more until he ran out of suggestions.

    Nicole noticed a bright golden colored book thatsaid,”Tales of the forest.” Nicole had asked Mr. Linden if he could seethat book but he said no in a furious tone. He warned her not to read thebook and Nicole promised, but of course she crossed her fingers with herarm behind her back. As Nicole went off to find another book, she secretlytook the book because Mr. Linden was busy helping a customer. So Nicolehurried to the other librarian to check out the book. She dashed to herhouse. Mr. Linden saw that she took the book. But he didn’t do anything,he just nodded his head sideways.

    Nicole was panting very hard when she came home.She opened the “Tales of the forest” book and started reading. “Once upona time, there was a girl named Nicole. She was a daughter of the richestpeople in the country of “Mars”(not  the real Mars).                                                                                      Nicole stopped because the book had said Nicole; her name. But she wenton reading. A few more sentences she read, she became more sleepy. Thenas she was turning the next page, something grew out of the book. It wasgreen leaf like vines crawling out. One of them had pricked Nicole in herarm and she fell flat on her bed. Little droplets of blood came pouringout onto her white bed sheets. Her mouth was open and she was snoring,but felt no pain of the blood pouring out. (dun dun dun)

    Nicole had woke up after 20 minutes and she was ina weird place. She had woke up in 20 minutes because she was lying on theforest floor just sleeping. She got up and looked down to see that shewas dressed in a white dress with a little princess crown.  She walkedand walked until she came to a castle. It was named Marlooloo. Nicole wentin and it was huge with flawless things. There were all polished neatlyas if you can see your face on the floor. It was slippery too because shehad a hard time walking.

    Someone had poked Nicole on the back. It was a queenactually. “Darling where have you been!?” said the queen. “Uh, do I knowyou?” asked Nicole. “Well, duh, I’m your mother.” “oh..OH! Hi.” The queenrolled her eyes and told Nicole to change for dinner. Nicole couldn’t believeshe was in “Mars”. But she wasn’t sad of going away form home. She wasthrilled.
    She had enjoyed her “life” until one day, someonehad poisoned her hair and when she smelled it, she fell down flat on herface first. One of the doctor dude came in and the queen asked “Is shedead?” The doctor dude said that she’s in a deep sleep and that she canonly wake up by smelling a handsome guys hair.

    So they searched for at least three months and shenever woke up by a dude. One day, a dude named Alfanzo came into the castleto try to test. But he was so ugly looking!! He had pimples everywhereand he wore tights! The queen and the king laughed that he would neverwake up their daughter. but he did. So they lived happily ever after. Andthen suddenly, a death eater came gliding by and was chasing after Nicole.

    Just as she was getting “the kiss” thingy from thedeath eater, she woke up in sweat. She had last dreamt that her face wasdecaying and her right eyeball was popping out. “Whoa. That was a prettycool book. I better return it though or else I actually be in serious trouble.”Nicole shivered at the thought.

Today was a nice peaceful day in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was a peacefultown and no one got hurt, no one was mean. There was a girl named Sierra,by the age of 14. She loved playing baseball, even though is was for boys.She didn’t have too much friends, but she was happy with what she had.Her father had recently been shipped to Washington D.C. for an importantmeeting. She was left with her mom, who worked three jobs, while her fatherwas away.

Then one day everything changed. She was walking home from school oneday and she noticed some one was following her. She got a little nervousand took out her baseball bat. Soon the car drove off and she put the batback into her bag. She ran home as fast as she could. She was being stalkedand someone was going to get hurt. Her house was about a couple miles awayand right before she got home, a huge flash of light struck the earth.

She was scared even more. “Why is everything happening to me today,am I going crazy?” she said to herself. She crept closer, and it turnedout to be a huge disco ball. She took out her baseball bat again and startedto poke the ball. Then, a woman came out of the ball. Sierra screamed andran away.

The police station was not too far off. She went there. She told thepolice what she saw, and they just laughed. Her mom’s friend had givenher a lift home because Sierra looked very tired. She again explained tothe officer what had happened. Finally, the officer said that he believedher. Sierra was so relieved that someone actually understood her. He askedher where she had seen this “Disco Ball.”

Sierra was at the spot where she saw the lady. She was scared, her bodywas tingling. The officer got out of the car to investigate the spot. Brokenglass was everywhere. Then out of no where, the woman jumped out and shotthe cop in the forehead. Sierra freaked out and turned on the engine andpushed on the gas to get as far away as she could. About two hours later,she was at the edge of town. Her heart pounding in her ears.

While Sierra was at the edge of the town, another disco ball came flyingto the ground and landed the same way as the first ball. As the thing cameout of the ball, it was another lady. This one seemed nicer and friendlier.

She had downloaded herself and said, “Sierra Napalm, I must save youfrom Doom Day.” She traced for Sierra and found her six blocks away. Asa matter of fact she could run really fast. Sierra was keeping a closelookout for anyone coming. Then she saw the lady running at her she endedup dropping the keys. But, the nicer robot caught up to her and tried tocalm her down.

“My name is Termopoper, but you can call me Jean. I have come from thefuture to save you from Doom Day,” said Jean.

Sierra had been having dreams of when the world would be attacked byrobots and they would destroy everything. The nightmares had all floodedback to her and she grabbed her own head and started to tell the Jean abouther dreams. “I remember that my mom was dying and I couldn’t help her,she was screaming that I had to save myself. Then I saw them, robots, somany robots killing every person is site. Before the robots could killmy mom, she shot herself in the head and said get away and never rememberthis.” Then she started to cry.

“Yes, that is going to happen. All of it. You are the one, the one whowill rule over everything. My mission is to protect you. To stop anythingthat would harm you. We also need to find Johnny Bishop, age 14, LittleRock, Arkansas. He is your spouse,” said Jean.

Sierra freaked out because that was the cutest guy in her school. Sheknew where he lived and told Jean where he lived. They went to his house,but, no one was home. They broke into the house and found blood everywhere.The evil robot, which was called Magnaly, was about to kill Johnny, butJean got in the way and was shot. Johnny scrambled over to Sierra and theyran out.

“I’m actually holding Johnny’s hand, Oh my god this must be a dream,”Sierra thought to herself.

They ran for about 20 min. and I started to explain what was going on.Johnny took it pretty good until I mentioned that we were going to marryeach other when we get older. Then he freaked out. About an hour later,Jean came back unharmed. She said that she had stalled Magnaly for now,but they had to get out of town to find Sierra’s father.

Before they went out of town, they stopped by Sierra mom’s office, totell her that she was going to be away because of the robot that is tryingto kill me. Her mother knew what was going on because she said it had happenedto her when she was my age. That’s how she met my father. I finally knewthe truth and said good bye to her. I knew the last time I was going tosee her was when she kills herself before the robots do. Then the memoriescame flooding back.

They drove and drove for many days. Not knowing what was going to happento them next. Sierra needed to save her mom and dad and not let them die.She wanted to change the future. When she mentioned this to Jean and Johnny,Jean replied, “No matter how much you try and how much you love them, evenif you take them away from where they are going to be killed, they aregoing to die no matter what you do. You can save them 1000 times, and theywould still end up dying. It is their destiny...”

Sierra cried at the thought of 1000 different ways her parents wouldget killed and it would happen all over again and again. She was quietthe rest of the way to her father’s office. It took about six hours. Shenever ate or slept. She started to scare the heck out of Johnny, but heknew that he could do nothing.

As soon as Sierra got out of the van, she ran into her Father’s arms.He whispered in her ear, “Your mother was murdered. They found her deadin the parking lot of her working place. I’m so sorry, you’ll be safe now.”

“No. I won’t be safe. Doom Day is near, and you will die too. Just likemom.” said Sierra in a soft voice.

Her father was quiet. Not a word was said and no one moved. They walkedover to the computers and he explained that they did not have the technologyto stop robots like Magnaly. Magnaly was unstoppable with our robots. Asthey walked, the father explained of a way to stop her, and told them togo to a base that had all the computers that could stop her. They walkedquietly to his office, trying not to distract the robots.
 
 

As soon as they got into the office, Magnaly shot Sierra’s father inthe heart and in his head. His last words were, “I love you...” Then hedied. Sierra was so mad, she wanted to kill the robot with her own hands.She lost the two people she loved most. Jean stood in front of Sierra andJohnny and told them to go to the base. They ran, trying not to be noticed.They took a boat out into the lake, and found the base. Each second counted.They needed to hurry, they didn’t have enough time.

They took a car and drove to the base. Before they got into the base,Magnaly grabbed Johnny. The door is closing in and if Johnny didn’t move,he’d get killed. Then Jean came and grabbed Magnaly. They had a final showdown and if Johnny couldn’t get through then he would be killed by theboiling Magma that would pour out, from above. He slid through and wassafe. It slammed shut. He could hear the magma pouring down and the tworobots were dead. Sierra and Johnny were now alone. They only had eachother.

They searched and searched for the main computer, but they realizedthat these were communicating computers. That these computers couldn’thelp them stop the robots. Then they heard a voice, it was the Generalof the Military. He asked, “Is there no way to stop this? Why are we gettingbombed, can we get away from this madness?”

The only thing Sierra said was, “We can only wait...” She turned offthe speaker and cried. She cried because her destiny was to remain alive.Both Johnny and Sierra walked, holding hands, knowing that they only hadeach other. They were alone.
