Underage drinking has always been and will always be a part of the American college tradition. Whether the drinking is done on campus or off, it will unfortunately always exist. Colleges are primarily targeted because it is the perfect time and place to experience alcohol since it’s your first time away from home and there is no parental supervision. Spending all this money to remove alcohol from college campuses does not put a stop to underage drinking, but will, in effect, make it less accessible. The numerous grants given by different organizations will help to change the future of college campuses and most likely make them alcohol free in the long run. If the bars and the liquor stores can crack down on false identification, then purchasing of alcohol by minors will become harder, resulting in the above statistics becoming lower. In conclusion, I feel that these methods, as a whole, will help to change the future of underage college drinking.
