Halina Adams recently completed her dissertation, The Architectural Imagination: Revolution, Illustration, and the Romantic Building 1776-1851. Located at the intersection of material culture studies, the history of the book, and literary studies, her work focuses on the ways in which Romantic authors on both sides of the Atlantic sought to reimagine architecture in order to challenge notions of history and national identity.

Dr. Adams received her BA with Honours from the University of British Columbia (2007) and her MA and PhD from the University of Delaware (2009, 2017). Since coming to Delaware, she has worked as a research assistant for both Donald H. Reiman and Mark Samuels Lasner. Her other research interests include the history of book illustration, female editors in the long nineteenth century, and depictions of banditti in Romantic texts.
