    Research and Teaching Interests

    Research

Janel’s dissertation project looks at contemporary women’s life writing, specifically personal narratives about pregnancy loss. In analyzing these stories, she draws on feminist and medical rhetoric, critical disability studies, and narrative theory to better understand performances of babyloss identity in spoken form, digital and print texts, and embodied practices.
