An environmental humanities scholar of early American print and visual culture, Andy’s first book project is a study of narrative and pictorial practices used to transmit the experience of visual observation employed by natural history in the first decades of the American republic. His writing has been published in Nineteenth-Century Prose, Science Communication, Western American Literature, and Oxford Bibliographies Online. He is a former managing editor of ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment.
