Three of the following:
ENGL 204 American Literature
ENGL 205 British Literature to 1660
ENGL 206 British Literature 1660-Present
ENGL 208 Introduction to Drama
ENGL 209 Introduction to the Novel
ENGL 210 Introduction to Short Story
The following courses:
ENGL 217 Introduction to Film
ENGL 317 Film History (may be taken more than once
when contents vary)
ENGL 318 Studies in Film (may be taken more than once
when contents vary)
ENGL 417—Film Theory and Criticism
Nine additional English credits (three courses) at the 300-
or 400-level. With the
permission of the student’s academic advisor or the director of the concentration,
students may substitute up to six relevant credits in Art, Art
History, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, or Political
Science for up to six of these nine credits.
