The University of Delaware Graduate Admissions Application is available via the SLATE application portal. All application materials must be submitted online.
Students from historically underrepresented groups in the humanities (including ex-military, first generation college, etc.) may be eligible for an application fee waiver. Please contact us via email to let us know if you are pursuing this option.
Begin the online application process by visiting the How to Apply webpage of the Graduate College. B.A.-holders should apply directly to the Ph.D. program, in which they will be able to earn an M.A. before going on to the Ph.D. portion of the degree.
We advise applicants to email their recommenders a week before the January 1 full funding deadline to remind them to upload their letters. The online system will not submit an application for consideration until all requisite documents have been uploaded, so it's important that your recommenders submit their letters on time.
Applications for admission without full funding should be received by January 31. Students are admitted into the English graduate program for the fall semester only.
Applicants who seek full funding will typically be notified of the English Graduate Committee's decision sometime in February. Students must accept the offer of admission no later than April 15.
General questions about the application process may be sent to Jessica Venturi, Academic Support Coordinator for the Graduate Program, at email@example.com .
