The University of Delaware Graduate Admissions Application is available exclusively online via the SLATE application portal. Paper applications are no longer accepted. All application materials (the application form, the $75 application fee, official copies of GRE scores, transcripts from other institutions, a writing sample, a statement of objectives and interests, and three letters of recommendation) must be submitted online.
Begin the application process by visiting the How to Apply webpage of the Office of Graduate & Professional Education. To ensure that all your application materials are received, consider using our Graduate Application Checklist as the deadline approaches.
The system will not submit an application for consideration until all requisite documents and information have been uploaded. It is the prospective student's responsibility to make sure that the application is complete by January 1 (for those seeking admission with full funding) or May 1 (for those seeking admission without funding) but the English Graduate Admissions committee will typically review all completed applications up until January 31st. Students are admitted into the English graduate program for the fall semester only.
Applicants who seek full funding will typically be notified of the English Graduate Committee's decision sometime in March. Students must accept the offer of admission no later than April 15. General questions about the application process may be sent to Aundrea Young, Academic Support Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org . Specific queries about the MA/PhD program curricula and expectations may be directed to Siobhan Carroll, Director of Graduate Studies, at email@example.com .
