Our program has long taken an active role in helping our graduate students compete for good jobs in academia. In response to the increasingly competitive job market we have established a formal Job Placement Committee as a standing committee in our department. Our Job Placement Committee helps to prepare graduate students for every step of the academic job search. We combine group meetings with one-on-one advising sessions and mock interviews in order to make sure that our students are prepared to compete for jobs. While the committee organizes the process, many members of the English faculty and University Writing Center participate by helping with workshops and mock interviews. Visit our Post-Graduate Career Highlights page to see our placement data.
