  • Amy Kates,

    University of Delaware
    004 Memorial Hall
    Newark, DE 19716

Since graduating from the University in 2005, Amy Kates has worked as a writer and editor across multiple media. Her least-favorite gig was Weather Channel copy girl, although she does know all the words for "it's raining." Her favorite gig was the year she spent as a sports columnist for a daily in Pennsylvania. She tripped over Jimmy Rollins' bat at Spring Training on her first assignment. (It was very embarassing.) She has since rebounded and now works as a senior editor who oversees 12 annual magazines, and you can find her freelance writing and editing in various publications, local and beyond. When not obsessing over long-form journalism, contemporary fiction and creative nonfiction, you can find her cycling, badgering people to talk about TV or hanging out at the nearest Wawa. She lives with her husband and one little person in Middletown.
