Andy Ross is a new post-doc in the Composition Program teaching place-based, publically-engaged sections of ENGL110. Prior to arriving at UD, he studied in the Literature and Environment program of the University of Nevada, Reno, receiving his doctorate in May 2017. An environmental humanities scholar of early American print and visual culture, Andy's first book project is a study of narrative and pictorial practices used to transmit the experience of visual observation employed by natural history in the first decades of the American republic. His writing has been published in Nineteenth-Century Prose, Science Communication, Western American Literature, and Oxford Bibliographies Online. He is a former managing editor of ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment. Beyond the writing and literature classrooms, Andy's interests include graphic design, NBA basketball, and (slowly) riding his bike to and from campus.
