Dan Whitley is a first-generation college student from Chesapeake, VA, with an interest in late-18C American literature, politics, journalism, and information networks. He is particularly interested in how information moved across space in this period and how information networks influenced the development of literary and political traditions in the early American republic. His master's thesis investigated the inflammatory rhetoric of American newspaper reports during the Citizen Genêt Affair of 1793.
