Kaari Newman recently completed her Master's degree at the University of St. Thomas, where she worked on print culture and women's writing of the long 19th century. Her scholarly interests include Mary Shelley's short stories and later novels, literary journalism of the 1830s and 1840s, and the professionalization of women writers across the British Empire during the liminal period between Romanticism and Victorianism. Her article, "Temple Bar's New Portrait of Femininity," will be published in a special issue of the Wilkie Collins Journal in April 2019."
