He is the Blog Editor and Sr. Editorial Assistant of Spoon River Poetry Review, a continuously published poetry journal since 1976. As a writer, his aesthetic is shaped by authors like Franz Kafka, Gabriel García Márquez, William Faulkner, Toni Morrison, V. S. Naipaul, Arundhati Roy, Vijay Tendulkar, etc. His research interests include craft of fiction writing, creative writing pedagogy, writing process, and postcolonial theory.
