    213 Memorial Hall
    (302) 831-6597

Samantha graduated summa cum laude from Colby College (2014) with a BA in English and Classical Civilization. She received her MA from the University of Delaware (2016). Samantha’s research interests are British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century, material culture studies, spatial theory, novel studies, ecocriticism, and garden history. Her dissertation redefines our understanding of the nineteenth-century garden to interrogate how this garden culture impacted the various plots and agents operating in nineteenth-century novels. In additional to teaching college writing, Samantha has served as the Graduate Assistant for the Mark Samuels Lasner Collection from 2016-2017 and is currently working at Rockwood Museum in Wilmington, Delaware, cataloguing their previously undocumented library of over 2,000 books.
