Dorothy graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2013 with a B.A. in English with a concentration in Communications and Technology and a minor in Writing. She continued at UMBC and in 2015 completed her MA in Texts, Technologies and Literature with the thesis entitled "Fannish Pareidolia: Criticism Through Creative Composition." Despite stepping away from academia for several years, she has been working on media criticsm podcast "Trash & Treasures" since 2016. She began PhD studies at the University of Delaware's Department of English in 2019. Her main interests include fan and audience reception of texts (particularly in relation to gender and sexuality); horror; monstrosity; and material versus digital constraints on text production and dissemination.
