​Remson DeJoseph finished his BA at Rhode Island College (2018), studying Creative Writing and Theatre, and graduated from Boston College with an MA in English Literature (2022). Remson specializes in medieval literature and early modern literature, environmental studies, gender/feminist studies, and performance studies. His research investigates Shakespeare performances, readings, and discussions that are considered ahistorical or anachronistic, while advocating the importance of taking Shakespeare out of a historical time and into a contemporary environment.

Beyond academia, Remson is a writer and stage performer, authoring the new play Good Friday: An Apocalyptic Tragedy which premiered in New York City January 8th, 2019, and saw a second production in Providence, Rhode Island that same year. He has performed and directed several Shakespeare plays, including As You Like it, Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, and Julius Caesar. Remson’s creative goal is to find ways for newer readers/audiences to interact with Shakespeare’s plays and poetry.
