Biography
Jessica Edwards, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. Dr. Edwards has developed and taught courses in technical writing, critical race studies, composition studies, diversity studies, and African American literature. Her scholarship considers ways to engage critical race theory, the intersections of race, racism, and power, and storytelling in writing classrooms.
Dr. Edwards was a Faculty Scholar with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment at UD and her scholarship has appeared in Computers and Composition Online as well as the edited collections, Key Theoretical Frameworks for Teaching Technical Communication in the 21st Century and Citizenship and Advocacy in Technical Communication: Scholarly and Pedagogical Perspectives. She served as a consultant editor for the first-year composition reader, Black in America: A Broadview Topics Reader, published by Broadview Press in 2018.
