Biography
​Juliet Del Rio is a writer and teacher
specializing in language diversity and translingual studies. Her areas
of interest include exploring the ways in which the hierarchy of the
English language suppresses minority groups and developing teaching
methods for ESL writing for academic purposes. She currently teaches
composition classes in the First Year Writing Program.
Del Rio
received her M.F.A. in creative writing from Drexel University and her B.A. in TV screenwriting & production and English creative writing & literature from Hofstra University. She writes magical realism
eco-fiction, drawing from years of gardening and artistic expression
through dance. Her children's play received the CHOP Story Medicine
Grant and her short stories were a finalist for the Ohioana Walter
Rumsey Marvin Grant. Her journalism has been published on Forbes, The
Financial Diet, Long Island Pulse, and others.
