Biography
Kaari's research interests center on transatlantic women’s literature of
the long nineteenth century, particularly women’s short fiction and
other contributions to the developing periodical press. She has written
on the periodical publications
of Mary Shelley, Frances E.W. Harper, and Harriet Beecher Stowe,among
others. Her study on Mary Elizabeth Braddon’s serialization of
Aurora Floyd was published in a special issue of the Wilkie Collins Journal
(2019). An avid archival scholar, Kaari is concurrently pursuing her
Museum Studies certification from UD's Graduate Certification program,
which has provided opportunities for field work in the UK, at the
Delaware Historical Society, and as the Graduate
Assistant for the Winterthur Research Library (2020-2021). She received
her BA in English Literature and Writing from Bethel University (2010)
and graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with her
MA in English (2017).
